Advent means “coming.” In this season we look in two directions. First, we look back to the time when God sent forth His Son to come as Savior. Second, we look forward to the time when He will come as Savior from death and the grave. With our hearts rooted in the past, we long for the future and therefore pray: Come, Lord Jesus! Come!
